If you have never made a tie dye face mask before, it can be a bit confusing. If you’re making one for the first time, it’s always a good idea to read all the instructions and materials before you start. They are generally pretty straightforward and most of the time won’t require much work on your part. The one precaution that I would suggest taking is to read through the instructions again before you start washing the mask to make sure you understand how you should be washing it.

You will need a large white piece of fabric, preferably a towel so you can hold it up against the front of your head, and a few spools or lengths of thread. You’re going to need two different colors of thread – one for light tones, and one for darker shades. Once you have these supplies gathered, you’re ready to sew the strips together with a sewing machine of course. This is probably a lot easier than it sounds, and I’m sure once you get past that stage it’ll come naturally.

After you have completed your two masks, it’s time to rinse them off. To do this, fill a clean cloth with warm water and add a small amount of laundry detergent. Rub this over the fabric where the mask is attached and then rinse well. Remember to keep your colors separated if you have multiple pieces of fabric that need to be dyed. Once you have rinsed the masks off, you can put them aside to dry, but remember to allow them to air dry in the sunlight for the best results.
